Plant Prints // OOTD

Hello!

This summer I've been obsessed with all things leaf print and green, it's such a great print for those with a fairly simple wardrobe as it adds such a great splash of colour to monochrome. When I spotted these culottes in H&M I just had to get them. I'm in love with culottes- they just ooze style.

To keep the culottes the main focus of the outfit, I paired them with some monochrome pieces. My jacket is from Primark, my top is from Topshop as are my shoes. These trousers are so versatile as you can dress them up to go out for dinner or to a party but they are still comfortable enough to be able to lounge around in. The material is also so light and perfect for those warm summer months.

The culottes were £17.99 from H&M and they also had a button up shirt and a play-suit in the same print.

Healthy Breakfast Smoothie with Berries

Hello!

I thought I'd do something a little different today and post a simple recipe. Recently, I've been trying to get healthy and eat better, so I decided to make this breakfast smoothie to kick start my healthy day.

To make this yummy berry smoothie, you will need;

  • A handful of Blueberries
  • A handful of Strawberries
  • 3 table spoons of low fat Greek yoghurt
  • a splash of semi-skimmed milk
  • some Greek honey (amount is up to you, I personally like lots!)
  • 2 table spoons of flax seed
Then you just need to pop it all in a blender and blend for about a minute on a medium setting for a smooth texture.

VoilĂ ! A healthy, yummy breakfast smoothie!

Rimmel Nude Lipstick Collection by Kate Moss // Review & Swatches

As a huge fan of the original Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks by Kate Moss, I was over the moon when I heard that she'd brought out five beautiful new shades. With Kylie Jenner's famous lips still very much being talked about, it was no wonder that the next collection of these lipsticks would be centred around that sought after nude lip.

There are 5 new shades that are aimed at specific skin tones to help you find your perfect shade that compliments your skin;

  • All Skin Types – 40, 43, 48
  • Neutral Skin Undertones – 40, 43
  • Warm Skin Undertones – 43
  • Cool Skin Undertones – 45
When choosing nude lipsticks, I always tend to go for the brown and mauve shades as I feel that they are way more flattering for my skin tone- peachy nudes are a bit of a no-go for me and when I swatched shades 40, 42 & 43 in my local Boots, they definitely didn't look like they would suit me at all.
I consider myself to have Cool Undertones so I went for shade 45 (Rose Nude) which is a beautiful cool-toned blush pink. It's not too light and so doesn't wash me out, which can be the case with come pink lipsticks- it's a perfect every day shade. I also went for shade 48 (Dark Nude), a terracotta/red brown shade which is great for an every day vampy look. I love darker lipsticks as I feel that they're really flattering on me- I think it's because they balance out my face a bit because my eyebrows are so thick and dark!

Shade 48

The lipsticks have a satin finish and have a really nice feel to the lips- not tacky in the slightest and really light. With shade 45, I don't feel the need to build the colour up- for a lighter shade, it's quite pigmented. The darker shade (48) is very pigmented and you only need one coat and you're good to go!

These are such great lipsticks for every day and are such good quality for the cheap price of £5.49 at Boots! Boots are currently doing a Buy One Get One Half Price offer on Rimmel products so I'd definitely recommend going out and grabbing some of these on offer while you can!

Chanel Les 4 Ombres De Chanel

Hello lovlies and sorry for my disappearance!

I can't believe it's been almost 7 months since my last post on here! Sadly the year started off as pretty hectic and full on as exams were fast approaching and I barely had time to sleep, let alone blog! But exams are well over now (hurrah!) and I am now enjoying a nice long summer before I start University in the autumn. Now that I have time, I'm going to try fully commit to blogging as it's something I really love. So, with that being said, here's a post on one of my recent purchases, the Chanel Les 4 Ombres De Chanel in the shade 'VARIATION'.

I had a £20 Boots voucher that I was yet to spend and decided to use it to buy something special as I got it as an 18th birthday present. I thought, 'what's more special than Chanel?!' and so I ended up getting this beautiful eye shadow quad.

I was so drawn to the gorgeous gold shade. I'm such a sucker for gold and metallic eye shadows so I just had to get this one! The purple shades are equally beautiful and I can see myself using this almost everyday as the shades are so versatile. In fact, I think I have been using this every day since I bought it!

The pigmentation on these eye shadows is incredible- you only need the tiniest dab on your brush and it will go such a long way. Plus there is no fall out at all, which I love. I particularly like the gold shade because it's quite cool toned which means that you can use it to create a cool toned look or a warm toned look- it works with so many transition and crease shades.

For this look, I used all of the shades plus a separate transition shade; I used a dusty rose colour to blend through the crease as a transition shade, then I used the gold shade all over the lid. I used the lighter shimmery purple on my outer-v and the darkest shade to darken the crease. For my inner corner highlight, I used the lightest shimmery shade and to finish off, I applied a few coats of Lancome Hypnose mascara.

This quad is pretty pricey at £40 (eek!), but it can be justified because it's just so versatile and the quality is superb!

The quad can be purchased here at Boots!

Hope you're all well and see you soon! (I promise this time haha!)
