Casual Monday // OOTD

Hello!

Here's a quick OOTD post; today I've been busy with tidying my room and having a massive life cleanse before I start Uni (I got in! I shall do a blog post later this week!). It feels so good to de-clutter- I feel that by clearing out my room, I'm also clearing out my mind, it's so refreshing.

I wore my Topshop Jamie Jeans which were a steal in the sale at £15. They're really stretchy and comfy- perfect for moving around all day. I also threw on a grey cotton t shirt from Zara and as I needed to pop out for a bit today, a vintage Levi jacket from eBay. I finished off my look with my Birkenstocks for the ultimate laid-back look.

MAC Look In A Box Lip Kit in Pretty Natural // Review & Swatches

Hello!

MAC have recently come out with a new set of 'Look In A Box' kits and after a lot of effort, I managed to get my hands on one of the most popular- the Lip Kit in 'Pretty Natural'. MAC lip products are some of my favourites and I'm a sucker for a nude lip so I just had to get this set. Although, it seemed that everyone else had the same idea and for ages it was sold out on MAC's website,  much to my disappointment. Despite checking the website 3 times a day, every day, I had no luck until I found that Selfridges were also selling the kit- and it was in stock! I quickly snapped it up and patiently waited for it's delivery.

The Lip Kit contains 3 full sized products in pinky-nude shades. It sells for £29 which is very reasonable as you're basically getting one product free. The lip products work well together or on their own and great for every day wear because of the beautiful nude tones.

Lipstick in 'Pretty Natural': Sadly my lipstick arrived damaged; it seemed as if the lid had been put on before twisting the lipstick down, leaving it a bit squashed. However, I can still use it and love the shade. It's described as a 'mid tone warm nude' and comes in a cremesheen finish. The colour pay off is ok- I find that you need a few layers to build up the colour and stop it from being just a light wash  that accentuates the cracks in your lips. It has a creamy texture and is fairly long lasting. As far as I know, this shade is exclusive to the set.

Lipliner in 'Subculture': Subculture is a well loved lip pencil shade from MAC and I was so happy to find out that it was included in the set because I could never justify spending £12.50 to buy it separately. Described as an 'underground pink', Subculture is a great every day shade with a bit of an edge. As much as I loved the shade, I found the formula to be really drying and it dragged on my lips as I applied it. There's no way I could just throw this on without exfoliating and moisturising my lips to the max beforehand, as it would highlight every dry patch and make them even drier.

Lipglass in 'Feeling Fine': I've never been a fan of lipgloss nor have a ever tried one from MAC so this was a first for me. 'Feeling Fine' is described as 'soft beigy pink with pearl'. It's very glittery and shimmery which is something I usually wouldn't go for as I'm a matte lip girl at heart, but I can see myself wearing this for parties. It's fairly sheer but does add a hint of pale pink colour to the lips. I found the formula to be very tacky; it's a little uncomfortable but that may just be because I'm not used to wearing lipgloss. However, the formula is extremely long lasting, like extremely. I had a hard time getting this off when I was doing swatches and could still feel a hint of it on my lips hours later.

L-R: Lipglass in 'Feeling Fine', Lip Pencil in 'Subculture' and Lipstick in 'Pretty Natural'.
Despite some faults, I do think that this lip kit is a good addition to any make up collection and it's such good value for 3 full size MAC products. I am glad I managed to finally get my hands on it and I can see myself using it quite often- especially Subculture as I love the shade so much.

At the time of writing this blog post, the kit has since sold out on Selfridges and is still sold out on MAC's website, but definitely keep an eye out for it!

Druzy Dreams Jewellery // Rose Gold Necklace & Ring

Hello!

The other day on Instagram, a brand called 'Druzy Dreams' followed me. Intrigued by the name, I decided to check out their account and saw that they made beautiful boho inspired jewellery. I fell in love with their style and browsed their website for about half an hour before deciding that I needed everything on there. I narrowed down my wishlist and chose these two items to order.

I'm a huge fan of rose gold jewellery and arrows so I just couldn't resist this beautiful necklace and this dainty ring. I like having simple jewellery that I can wear everyday with any outfit and these two items are perfect.

The simplicity of the necklace and ring mean that you can pair them with almost any other piece of jewellery- I received a pair of rose gold Shaun Leane earrings for my 18th birthday which I will definitely be wearing with these two pieces.

I love the length of the necklace as it's perfect for layering. The ring is also very delicate and light and doesn't bother you if you're writing or typing.

The items arrived very well packaged and came with a lovely handwritten note! I will definitely be buying some more pieces of jewellery from Druzy Dreams in the future!

Get the ring HERE and get the necklace HERE.

You can also get 10% off your first order if you follow this link! http://refs.cc/bUE2x8zw

July Favourites

Hello!

July seems to have flown by so quickly and the end of summer is fast approaching (noooo!). I can't believe we're already in August and that in 11 days, I'll get my A Level results and find out if I got into Uni!! Putting the panic aside for a moment, here are a few things that I loved during July.
  • 1. Weekly Planner from Anthropologie: During summer I tend to get a bit lazy. It's so easy to sleep in until 12pm everyday and spend all of my time watching Netflix whilst I neglect all the things I had planned to do. I love things to be laid out in a clear and visual way so I thought that this weekly planner would be perfect to help me get on track with spending my time productively. Apart from the days of the week, the planner is fairly blank, leaving you to fill it out however you please and plan your time according to you.
  • 2. Copic Markers: I'm a very arty person and now that I'm finished with all my art course work for college, I have the time to draw and paint whatever I like. I'm currently really into illustration and have been wanting to get a few Copic Markers for quite some time. They are some of the best in the drawing biz, however they are quite pricey. I managed to find some being sold individually on eBay for a reduced price and decided to get myself 3 to start out with. I love the vibrant pigmentation and the way the colours blend together to give a clean, even finish. I shall definitely be getting some more of these.
  • 3. Birkenstock Arizona Birko-Flor Sandals in Khaki: Yep, I bought a pair. I know these guys have a bit of a bad rep but honestly I'm in love with them and they have to be the comfiest shoes I've worn in a long time. I'd been eyeing up these khaki ones from Urban Outfitters for a while but was a little reluctant to pay the £55 (£49.50 with Student Discount) that they cost. However, after searching for weeks to find a pair elsewhere online for cheaper and failing, I gave in and ordered these beauties. I find them so effortlessly cool- you can just slide these on with almost any outfit and instantly create a laid-back look. I'm a big fan of muted tones so the khaki green shade goes perfect with most of my wardrobe. I love to pair these with some grey ripped skinny jeans or some distressed shorts for a casual vibe.

  • 4. Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow: It's a well known fact that Charlotte Tilbury is the queen of make up. Her quirky product names and rose gold packaging are to die for and her Wonderglow Primer is a firm favourite amongst make up fans everywhere. During summer, I love to go for a glowy, 'golden goddess'-esque look with my make up, but that can be a little hard when you have dry, dull skin. I've found that Wonderglow works wonders (ha!) for me; I wear it under my Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and I truly get that 'glow from within' effect. The hint of glitter in the product reflects the light giving you dewy, youthful skin which is perfect for summer.
  • Rimmel Nude Lipstick Collection by Kate Moss in shade 48:  I'm a massive lover of nude lipsticks and of Kate Moss' Rimmel collections, so her new line was a dream come true. I made a blog post here reviewing 2 of the shades that I bought (45 & 48) and I've been finding myself wearing shade 48 almost everyday. It's such a beautiful brown-red shade that isn't too dramatic for every day wear. I tend to wear very warm tones on my eyes and this lipstick shade goes perfectly with them. The formula isn't drying and the colour pay off is fab. I can see this being a fave all throughout August too.
  • KIKO Beam of Light Highlighter in shade 02 'Sand': A KIKO store has opened up in Brighton's Churchill Square and I couldn't resist having a browse. I've never owned anything from this brand before but I ended up buying a few products and have since become obsessed. This highlighter is incredible. The pigmentation is so intense and beautiful and gives you the perfect glow to your cheekbones. Shade 02 is a lovely champagne-gold and is great for warm toned make up. I use this everyday and it's the perfect finishing touch to my everyday glowy make up.
  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush and Contour Palette in 'Golden Sugar': WOW. This blush, contour and highlight palette from Makeup Revolution incredible. Makeup Revolution has been a favourite brand of mine for a while now- their beautifully pigmented and affordable products are in constant use in my make up collection. I was drawn to the golden-amber shades of this palette as I can't resist warm tones. Recently, I've really been getting into contour and highlight and this palette has it all. With mattes and shimmers in some gorgeous colours, its a great palette if you want in on the contour and highlight game too. I've also been using the marbled copper shade on my eyes as it's so shimmery and vibrant. The palette is versatile and a steal at £6.

Summer Nights & Beach Lights // OOTD

Hello!

Here's a quick outfit of the day from when I went on a lovely evening beach walk with my mum and sister. I love going out when the sun is just setting, the light is beautiful and everything is orange and warm. I'm lucky enough to live by the sea and the pier looks wonderful in the evening.

I'm in love with this oversized white shirt from Topshop. I've been eyeing it for ages but couldn't bring myself to spend the £30 on the price tag. However, by some miracle, when I went into my local Topshop to browse the sale, there it was- one left, in my size for £18, I almost cried. I grabbed it and with student discount, only ended up paying £16,20- bargain! I paired the shirt with some old denim shorts from Urban Outfitters, my new Birkenstocks and a big floppy hat from H&M. I also added this brown leather drawstring bag from Primark. The outfit felt really casual and effortless and it was the perfect combination of chic and comfy.

The shirt is technically a beach cover-up so it's a little see-through, but it also means that it's long enough to wear as a dress, which I will defo be doing soon.

I also got some highlights done the other day for a bit of a change! Eventually, I'm aiming to be a full blonde! Let me know what you think!
