Parham House Visit & OOTD

Taking advantage of the beautifully warm weather, my mum, sister and I recently took a trip to Parham House in Sussex for a day out in the glorious sunshine.

Parham House is a stunning Elizabethan stately home, accompanied by equally stunning gardens. I couldn't resist shooting an outfit post surrounded by the bright array of flowers, especially as I matched the scenery in my floral embroidered jeans from Glamorous.

The house is situated in the countryside, making it so tranquil and quiet- perfect for a chill summer's day. Whilst the tour around the house was interesting, I much preferred strolling through the gardens as everything was in full bloom and brimming with colour.

I've been experimenting more with colour in my wardrobe recently and these jeans have been a great place to start. I love the colours as they encourage me to be more bold in my accessorising. I dug out this old bag from Accessorize to pair with the jeans and love the look. I'm a huge fan of red for summer- it's a colour that gives off great Mediterranean/ Dolce and Gabbana vibes that I think optimise the warmth of the summer months.

Summer in the UK has certainly taken its sweet time, but it is finally here and I've been trying to make the most out of my summer wardrobe before the grey clouds return.

It's been in the high 20s temperature-wise at the moment so comfort and coolness have been my number one needs when it came to picking clothes recently.

I've been loving the bodysuit at the moment. They're so great for throwing on with anything and, more importantly, are incredibly comfortable- great for lounging around in when it's too hot to move. 

Another favourite of mine recently has been the midi skirt. I'm not too comfortable wearing short skirts without tights so a midi is the perfect choice for me. They're lightweight, cool and flattering and my collection is steadily growing.

Sharing Bra-blems with ThirdLove

Bunching, pinching and poking - just a few of the common issues we all suffer when it comes to to putting on a dreaded bra. Straps are definitely one of my most common bra-blems- they're always either slipping or digging in to my shoulders. After using this handy guide, I will be looking into exploring different band sizes and bra styles to try find a solution to my discomfort.

Despite wearing a bra for years (and thus obviously thinking I'm an expert!), I've never thought about changing the cup size when changing the band size. Now I don't have to settle for a solution to one problem whilst accentuating another- they can all be fixed!

The easiest way to check if you've got the right size band is to see if you can slip two fingers underneath the back of the band- if you can, then you most likely have!

Above are some tips on how to deal with cups that are two small, causing discomfort. However, if you're like me and sometimes have to deal with a bit of gapping in the cups, take a look below for some solutions better suited for you.

Soap & Glory 'Scrub Your Nose In It' // Review

Today I've got a review of the Soap & Glory 'Scrub Your Nose In It' facial scrub. I've been using this product for a few weeks now after picking it up on a whim in Boots and have been pretty pleased with the results so far.

I suffer from quite dry skin, something I've talked about before, and so I'm always on the hunt for good exfoliators to keep my skin soft and smooth. This particular one from Soap & Glory is targeted at clogged pores, which is something I don't think much about as I'm still learning the ins and outs of skincare, but it seemed to promise good things so I decided to give it a go. What I stupidly didn't notice when I picked this up however, is that its aimed at oily/combination skin which I don't personally suffer from too much in general. Saying that though, one of my problem areas is my nose, which can get quite oily throughout the day. It's also where my pores are most visible, so I thought that, even though I can't really use this on my whole face, I can concentrate its benefits on my nose and see how it turns out.

'Scrub Your Nose In It', as stated on the S&G website, is formulated with their deep pore detoxing D-CLOG™MICROMUD which is a "super clarifying, triple action, diatomaceous earth mix" and helps to exfoliate, clean and purify the skin. It also contains Yuzu, (which helps to tone and brighten), Montmorillite Clay (helps to soak up oils) and Super Aha Fruit Acids (helps to get rid of dead cells), which all sound super scientific and serious!

I use this scrub about once or twice a week, depending on how my skin is looking and feeling and its really been making a difference. My nose is a lot smoother, making foundation apply much more evenly and look less cakey. I've also noticed that the number of blackheads have certainly decreased and despite a little oilyness at the sides of my nose, overall it's pretty oil free.

The exfolating beads in the scrub are quite small and gritty, making them a little uncomfortable if you really get in there with the scrubbing, but otherwise OK. My skin can also feel a little sensitive after use, but I suffer from that with a lot of products so it's not a major issue. As with all Soap & Glory products, this scrub smells amazing with a refreshing, minty scent. 

For a pretty great exfoliator, this one from Soap & Glory is a steal at £9! I will definitely be trying out some of their other skincare products after such a good experience with this one,

Boohoo X Spring Suede // OOTD

Hiya!

I was recently contacted by Boohoo to take part in their Spring Suede campaign, which was super exciting! As suede is a major trend for this spring, they asked me to pick and style an item from the site to fit my look for this season.

I decided to pick out this fab suedette bag to style. The look I'm going for at the moment is quite neutral- lots of black, white and navy- mixed in with pops of colour, in particular pink. This day bag is the perfect addition to my wardrobe as it's simple and can be paired with just about anything. 

I love the versatility of the bag; with 3 different strap options (one is not pictured), you can wear it multiple ways, giving you a variety of looks. With a few day trips planned this spring, I needed a bag that's a good size to carry around a decent amount of junk and this one is great, not too big and not too small- great for a day at uni.

To complete my spring look, I went for a pair of loose fitting jeans and a white shirt- two staples for my spring uniform. I also threw on a bomber jacket and added some trainers to keep the look casual.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Night Cream // Review

As someone who suffers from perpetually dry skin, I'm constantly on the lookout for new products to try tackle the problem. Whilst in Boots a few weeks ago, I came across a new product from Garnier targeted at dehydrated skin. With its promise of 'recharging, replumping and hydrating up to 10 layers of skin', I decided to give it a go and have been using it for just over a week now. 

I picked up the night cream version of the product as I felt that it would just be that little bit more moisturising as night creams usually are. As well as the promise of hydration, the cream's benefits also include anti-dullness, less irregularities and reduced fine lines. These are all achieved with the help of super fruit extracts, pomegranate and amla as well as plant serum.

The first thing I noticed about the product was it's gel-like texture. It felt a bit weird at first but I soon got used to it and its cooling effect on the skin. My skin absorbed the cream well as I rubbed it in, it didn't feel greasy or heavy. The texture almost became watery as I worked it into the skin, but again that's something I got used to. 

After using it for one day, I immediately noticed a difference in my skin. I often find that I never achieve lasting hydration with other creams and within a few hours, my skin is back to its usual dry texture. With this cream however, I woke up with my skin still feeling hydrated and smooth, leaving a nice base for me to apply my make up on to. The hydration seemed to last throughout the day, giving weight to Garnier's claim of 72 hours of continuous hydration. I wouldn't say that I personally would get 72 hours of hydration just from one application but I definitely was able to achieve moisturised skin for an extended period, which is very rare for me.

I'm super impressed with this cream and will definitely be trying out the day version to see if its just as good. It's very rare that I find a moisturiser as good as this for my skin as it's usually very stubborn when it comes to hydration! I would definitely recommend trying this out if you suffer from really dry skin as it's such a great product for the drugstore price!

Blue Suede Shoes // OOTD

Recently I've been loving experimenting with stand out pieces in my wardrobe. As someone who loves to keep it simple and neutral most of the time, I've been on the look out for some great additions to liven up an outfit.

One of my faves at the moment has been this leopard print coat from Pull & Bear. I can throw this on with a plain tee and a pair of jeans and look like I've put way more effort into an outfit than I really have. 

This white shirt and jeans combo have been a popular outfit choice for me at the moment too. I've been obsessed with shirts recently- they look so classy and chic but are great for every day when paired with some casual jeans. 

To finish off my look I chucked on my pair of gorgeous blue suede boots from Topshop. I knew I had to have these when I saw them in the sale and quickly grabbed a pair. They add so much to an outfit but so effortlessly. I kind of get subtle Saint Laurent vibes from their hint of quirkiness from the blue shade and love wearing these with straight legged jeans.
